Gutter Repairs in Sheffield

Leaking, overflowing and sagging gutters fixed properly, by our own local team.

A leaking or overflowing gutter rarely fixes itself. Left alone, water runs down your walls, soaks into brickwork and fascias, and can find its way inside. Sheffield Gutter Services repairs guttering on homes and businesses across Sheffield and the surrounding areas. We fix the problem properly, explain what caused it, and only recommend replacement when repairing it wouldn’t be good value.

Our minimum call-out is £85, and 40% of our jobs cost just that.

Common gutter problems we repair

  • Leaking joints. The seals between sections of plastic guttering wear out over time, and water drips or runs from the joint. We reseal or replace the joint, or the section if it’s damaged.
  • Overflowing gutters. Water spilling over the edge usually means a blockage, a gutter that has lost its fall, or one too small for the roof it drains. We find out which before fixing it.
  • Sagging or dropped sections. Broken or missing brackets let the gutter drop, so water pools instead of running to the downpipe. We refit or replace the brackets and realign the run.
  • Cracked or split guttering. Frost, impact and age can crack plastic and older cast iron. A single damaged length can usually be replaced without changing the whole system.
  • Gutters pulling away from the fascia. This often points to rotten fascia boards behind them. We’ll tell you if the fascia needs attention too; see our soffits and fascias service.
  • Blocked outlets and downpipes. A blockage at the outlet backs water up along the whole gutter. We clear it and check the downpipe runs freely.
  • Damp patches and staining on walls. Green or dark streaks below the gutter line are a common sign of a slow leak that has been running for a while.

Repairs for every type of guttering

We repair all the guttering systems you’ll find on Sheffield homes:

  • uPVC (plastic) guttering: the guttering on most modern homes. Joints, seals, brackets and individual lengths can all be replaced. If the plastic has become brittle along the whole run, we’ll tell you whether replacing it makes more sense.

  • Aluminium guttering: sectional and seamless systems. Because seamless runs have no joints along straight lengths, repairs are usually at corners and outlets.

  • Cast iron guttering: joints resealed, cracked sections replaced and rusted brackets renewed, keeping a period property’s character. See cast iron and period guttering.

  • Timber guttering: rot and leaks repaired in place where possible, with new timber matched to the original. See wooden guttering.

Repair or replace? We'll give you a straight answer

We’ll always try to repair first if a repair is reliable and good value. If the joints, alignment or sections are past repair, or you’d be paying for repairs again next year, we’ll explain why and quote for replacement so you can choose. There is more about new guttering on our gutter replacement and installation page.

What a gutter repair costs

Every repair is priced before we start. The price we quote is the price you pay, with no hidden extras. Our minimum call-out is £85. Larger repairs, such as replacing several lengths or refitting a run, are quoted after we’ve seen them.

How it works

  1. Get in touch. Call, email or send a message, and tell us what you’re seeing. Photos help.
  2. Free quote. We look at the problem and give you a fixed price.
  3. Repair. Our own trained team carries out the work. We never use subcontractors.
  4. Check and tidy. We test the gutter, clear away any waste, and can send before-and-after photos on request.

Our repair guarantee

Most repairs are covered by our 6-month workmanship guarantee.

Some guttering is past the point where a repair will last. When that’s the case, we’ll tell you before we start and recommend replacing it instead. If you’d still rather go with the cheaper repair, we’re happy to do it, but we can’t guarantee it.

If that repair then fails and you decide to replace the guttering with us, we’ll take the cost of the repair off the price of the replacement. You won’t pay twice.

Gutter repair FAQs

Can you fix a leaking gutter joint without replacing the gutter?
Usually, yes. Most joint leaks are a worn seal. We reseal or replace the joint unit, and only replace lengths that are damaged.
Why is my gutter overflowing when it isn't blocked?
The gutter may have lost its fall towards the downpipe, often because of a broken bracket, or it may be too small for the roof area it drains. We'll check both.
How much does a gutter repair cost?
Our minimum call-out is £85, and 40% of our jobs cost just that. We give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Do you repair cast iron and wooden gutters?
Yes. We repair and restore cast iron and timber guttering on period and listed properties.
Can you work on high or awkward roofs?
Yes. We use ladders, scaffold towers, MEWPs and cherry pickers for high-access work.
Is my gutter repair guaranteed?
Most repairs come with a 6-month workmanship guarantee. If we think a repair is unlikely to last, we'll tell you up front and won't guarantee it.

If it fails and you then have the guttering replaced by us, we'll deduct what you paid for the repair from the replacement price.
